North Korea Nuke testing...

Yea...so what's your opinion on North korea and their nuke testing?

Some of it is starting to scare me...or could that just be the media stretching the truth?

I was hoping that somethign like this wouldn't happen in my lifetime.

hope peace talks work (yea, so inconsistent)

I think the most possible targets for NK are South Korea and Japan. Japan since it's a world power (if that happens, no more Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti, Subaru, etc, no more sony, panasonic etc) and South Korea since we have troops stationed there.

I just pray to god nothing gets out of hand...

Re: North Korea Nuke testing...

they didnt actually test nuclear bombs, they tested some ballistic missiles short & long range, although there long range missiles havnt been fully tested, its only *predicted* that they can reach the shores of Canada/US.

but this is coming from a presidency that told us about WMD in Iraq but thats another story.

Isn't this in the wrong forum?

Anyway, any act by North Korea, such as a hostile missile launch, and the entire country would be turned into a crater. Little Kimmy is just rattling his cage trying to get free handouts from the UN.

Re: North Korea Nuke testing...

Well regardless, I doubt he's thinking of these rather crude missiles as first strike weapons. I see these mostly as bargaining chips and insurance to ward off any attempts at an invasion.

Mostly lots of media hype, I would say largly driven by the US government.
At the moment he can reach Russia, China, Japan, India, Indoneisa and Alaska.
All prime targets im sure
India and China could march an army though North Korea that would leave it nothing but on big muddy foot print, and bombing Alaska isn't going to upset that many people.

Re: North Korea Nuke testing...

Just because they've tested a few missiles doesn't mean that they have a warhead and are definitely going to use it.

...and....

Re: North Korea Nuke testing...

i think its media hype. i watched the news yesterday and it scared the shit out of me. thats their goal. control of the public through fear. what better way to gain the morale of the american people than to say NK tried to bomb us?

watch this video if you have some free time. its very interesting.

I'm pretty sure my sister would be upset having a bomb drop on her.

Aside from that, Japan is the country most threatened by NK. Its not likely that Kim would bomb South Korea or the US, but Japan is another story.

Re: North Korea Nuke testing...

There is a lot of historical enmity between the Koreans and the Japanese.

Re: North Korea Nuke testing...

Never underestimate the enemy.

IMO although North Korea's ballistic missile and nuclear programs are questionable with several years to refine, I would not underestimate their conventional ground and air/naval forces. Right now they may not be able to hit the broadside of a barn with their missiles or successfully deliver a nuclear payload to the US or hit any target in Japan with pinpoint accuracy. However, one of their goals is the reunification of both Koreas. Have we all forgotten about the Korean War. <--No cakewalk either.

Here is an interesting link about North Korea's military and their objectives. Just food for thought.

http://www.rense.com/general37/nkorr.htm

We only have about 30,000 troops (all branches of service) stationed in South Korea. North Korea has at least 700,000 at and within 150 kms of the DMZ (38th Parallel).

Kim Jong Il is a lunatic and firmly believes his army can beat the US. Therefore, they will not hesitate to Blitzkrieg South Korea let alone Scud missile Japan to death. Their goal is to defeat the US this time around.

BTW - The size of South Korea's ROK Army is estimated at 560,000.

Re: North Korea Nuke testing...

^As I've always said, it's not NK's capibilities we need to worry about, as much as it's their lack of care what happens to them. Sure, turn them into a crater, but before they kamikazie their whole country.

Everyone says they have nothing and their recent testing shows that. So, if they have nothing, what are they worried about losing? If enough live to see the fall of the US after their missles are capable of something, then they won. Start WWIII, they won.

Idc what anyone says, America lose the Vietnam War and in the same sense, Korean could win. Will they? Who really knows? They could, they could fall apart before suicide is possible, but still, but that's the fear that should be acknowledged.
