Rattling Metal or Metal Plate Noise when starting car.

I have a 2002 Honda Accord SE, and sometimes when I start my vehicle I will hear a rattling metal or rattling metal plate noise when starting the car. It does not continue to rattle, it is just when the car starts then it stops. There is no distinct time when this happens. It is a random occurence. It usually happens when I am starting my car after it has been off for awhile. Someone please help.

Chris

Check the heat shield over your exhaust pipe first. Chances are very very good it's loose. Quick and easy repair!

Not really a big problem unless its constant, but most likely a heat shield.

My moms fell off her kia while she was driving, she went back and picked it up thinking it was the muffler falling apart. Damn korean cars.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
