a lonely wire.

ok, i'm gonna give you guys first crack at this one. Below are 2 pictures of a wire connector that I have no clue where it's supposed to go. It looks as if it goes on a flat blade type connector. The wire is green and it runs with the o2 sensor connector. This is in my 91 RS btw.

Re: a lonely wire.

its in the head that sensor but that pigtail doesn't look like yours. Your pigtail looks like a knock sensor but I am not sure if you have one in that area. I would suggest looking at the wiring diagram for a green wire in that area and then look what is green and not hooked up.

Re: a lonely wire.

the temp sensor has one cingle green wire. and its on the drivers side head. i thinks its a 11/16 too. dont take it out just plug it in. it uses a blade type connector i think, some have like a nipple thin and the connector slides on sideways. pics are pretty fuzzy so its hard to tell. but check it out. looks like it slides over the nipple thing sideways

Re: a lonely wire.

The fan switches on and off via the reading it gets from a coolant temp sensor. Yes there is more than one but both of them measure the temp of the coolant.

Re: a lonely wire.

i was talking aobut the connector types,

3rd gen:

CTS-front of engine/intake -2 wire male plug connctor
temp sending unit- left side cyls 1&3- 1 wire balde connector
fan switch- right side cyls 6 & 8- 1 wire pressed fit (almost exaclty like the knock sensor)

Re: a lonely wire.

That's ok, I was trying to edit in that the fan switch and the knock use the same style connector but was interrupted.
