How to make windows from scratch?

Hi guys,

I am modifying a 1/24 997. The model comes with dark window with no interior. Can someone with experience in making window from scratch shares his/her experience with me? What thickness of transparent sheet should I start with? How to bend it to the shape of windshield? etc...

Thanks
Monster

There's one how-to on this in the, you've guessed it, how-to depository of the forum, and one in gionc's 575GTO progress thread currently at the top of the street/show model progress section.
