Re: Duramax Plowing

You may have to purchase a different mounting set-up for the D-max truck...your plow supplier could tell you the difference.
You will have no problems pushing snow with a D-max truck

Re: Duramax Plowing

The dealer said no because the weight of the plow plus the heavier weight of the diesel engine was too much for the frame to handle
thanks

Re: Duramax Plowing

I have an 03 Ext Cab with the Duramax and an 8' BOSS Super Trip on it. It adds about 800Lbs to the front end. The truck drives and handle's fine and will still do 70 MPH down the highway with 2800 lbs of sand in it. I got about 10MPG plowing with all that weight.

I may add some suspension enhancement up front this fall though.

The Fisher dealer told me they don't recomend an 8' due to the added weight of the long cab and the diesel but will install it anyways.

I love the truck and the diesel.

Re: Duramax Plowing

Believe me, the 2500 series frame and suspension can handle it.
