eco/wiring harness?

okay so ive been looking for a new project and found a guy selling a 1991 plymouth laser rs turbo.it has exhaust, turbo timer, blow off valve, down pipe, boost controller, lowering springs and gauges.the body is almost mint and the interior ismt much worse then the body.hes only asking 1,000 dollars but he had it stored for winter and some mice ate a few wires.this is an exact qoute from his add. "this is a great project or parts car since when i put it into storage for the winter some mice ate some wires and locked up the computer not leting any spark get to the spark plugs" can this be solved by a new ecu and wiring harness?and if so..would an ecu and wiring harness from any first gen dsm like talon or eclipse work?cause im very interested in this car...so feedback is greatly appreciated.and if that is all needed to fix it...anybody know a good place to get an ecu and wiring harness?or am i going to have to start checking junkyards?

***THE TITLE WAS SUPPOSED TO SAY ECU NOT ECO...TYPO..MY BAD***

Re: eco/wiring harness?

I dont think the ECU would be affected if some wires got eaten through. I would open it up and look for burn marks and shit. If there is some, you should get a new one. I think it should work with just the new harness, hell if only one or two wires got chewed through, you could just reconnect, solder, and shrink tube them and be good.

Re: eco/wiring harness?

It sounds a little suspicious. I would ask how he knows that's for sure the problem, and how he knows. If he tells you he can see the wires that were chewed, tell him you want to see them. But...ask him in person when you go to look at the car. He might just chop up some wires and say that's the problem when there is something worse hiding.

Re: eco/wiring harness?

I think you could put some new pieces of wire in to fix the chewed areas. Make sure they're all connected very well you don't want some phantom electrical problems.
