Still overheating

For the first time, I'm driving the Iroc on the road and I can determine problems out there. Here's what I've determined. The fans aren't working properly. The engine overheats like it was being barbecued ALL 4th of July. It's that bad. I picked up the hood and ran the engine, one rad fan came on, and then turned off. OH SH---

Re: Still overheating

Check how much water/antifreeze you have in the radiator for starters.. One fan comes on for the engine and another comes on for the A/C (From what I know, btw)

It's topped off, I swear. But I'll check again.

Re: Still overheating

What do you mean came on but then went off, like clicked on for 1/2 a second then shut off, or ran a few minutes then shut off?

That is NORMAL!!!

The fan does not run at all times. It is off until the temp sensor is at 230ish * and then the switch closes, boom, circuit made, fan is on. When the fan does it's job and brings the coolant temp back down to 200-210 the swtich opens, fan goes off.
