Swaping Rear Door 89 4Runner for 1990?
Hi I am trying to find out if it is possible to swap the rear door of my 89 4RUnner for a 1990? Does anyone know if it can be done? What are the actuall difference in them, can it be modified to work.
Not sure on the manufacturing date of the 1990 but mine is a 8/88 first generation model. Thanks Jamie R. |

Well.....it just cannot happen. Realizing it's a first and second generation swap I was not too optomistic at the least but hey worth a go right. Seems the 1990 door is 1/2" bigger than my 1989. Should have known but you know how curiosity goes.

Re: Swaping Rear Door 89 4Runner for 1990?
Almost everything is swappable within the same gen vehicle, p/u or 4Runner, 2wd or 4wd, but not from 1 gen to another (except p/u beds, the bolt pattern seems to be the same for any gen).
