alpine alarms good?

i just need a basic alarm, one that pretty much locks/unlocks my doors. i like the fancy stuff, but it's not somethin i'm concerned about. how good are the alpine SEC-150R and SEC-100S alarms? how do they compare to basic clifford systems?

It depends on what Clifford Alarm your talking about. They have a lot of them. Intelliguards are great. If they still make it or if you can find it, check out the alpine alarm that has the status LCD screen. That alarm is great!!! I forgot what model number it was but it is one of the best.

I'm getting the 150r installed tomorrow... getting power door locks with keyless entry as well for my 97 hatch 418.00 for everything. my buddy just got the alpine 100. any alarm will work.. it's just how you or they install it. the alpine 150r has a radar sensor on it.. that's the only difference between the two.

If you don't care about the fancy stuff and just want keyless, chirp, shock and door triggers. You may want to check out something by DEI considering they make clifford now. The viper 350hf is a nice unit. If you are looking for a 2 way the hornet is good. As i read in another reply it is all on the installation. But if you have your heart set on an alpine the 150 src is nice. CLifford intelliguard 700il is a very nice alarm but has tons of extras. Just remember all the extra's equal more cash.Stay away from compustar alarms they are garbage the company issued a memo due to the brains siezing in extreme hot and cold temps.

I persolally love ALPINE alarms. I have had an ALPINE alarm in all my cars since 93. I currently have a sec-8052 and sec-8058. both are close the the same thing as the 150-R. Very good alarms in my opinion.

Re: alpine alarms good?

Anyone have the IC´s numbers for a Alpine SEC-8052?

My siren burned and the IC´s marked as Q1 and Q2 in the printed board blow-out exactly where the numbers were.

Somebody got 'em?

Re: alpine alarms good?

Q1 and Q2 are transistors, to find the replacements since the labels burned off
your going to need the numbers printed along the side of the IC (integrated circuit) card
alpine can tell you the correct values for the burnt-up xistors if you give 'em the card #
good luck...
