1993 JGC AWD 5.2 L will crank but no start!

I have a 1993 JGC AWD 5.2 L that will not crank over to start. There is fuel Pressure but no spark and no injector pulse.
I was told it could have something to do with the security system. But pretty sure this JGC never had an alarm unit. The other possiblity was the computer control module but was told those are pretty reliable. Then looked up info on the CPS. But was told by a mechanic that the 5.2 liters don't have a CPS. Can anyone give me some advice. Thanks clampet

Re: 1993 JGC AWD 5.2 L will crank but no start!

Well it's doubtful it's the CPS. And yes the 5.2L does have a CPS.

Does the FUEL PUMP kick on when you turn the key to the ON position?
listen for a whirring sound, it is easier to hear with the gas cap off and holding your ear close to the filler hole while having someone else turn the key.

If the FUEL PUMP does not come on then it is most likely either a bad CPS or PCM.
