Chevy VS Gmc

Anyone know the difference between chevy silverado and GMC Sierra? I know they are really identical but there are some mechanical differences right?

Re: Chevy VS Gmc

I've always been told, but never seen proof, that GMC's are built a bit sturdier. Heavier frames, shocks, etc. I'd love to hear if it's true, but it seems a bit doubtfull.

Re: Chevy VS Gmc

I've allways thought GMC was the pricier side of GM. Kinda like Mercury & Ford.

there are exactly zero differences between the GMC pickup and the Checy pickup on the drivetrain....the only difference is on the trim and maybe some of the body parts....engine and drive train the same thing.

I like the design / trim on the GMC trucks for the most part, they are usually better (at least in my eyes). Real world quality I would expect to be the same though.

I agree that GMC has a better look as of right now, but when the 07 come out that might change,or when ever they change the silverado look.

Re: Chevy VS Gmc

A friend has a base gmc and his bench seat folds down and he has powerlocks. Mine is a base silverado but the bench seat does not fold down and i did not have powerlocks. I think gmc's trucks have more standard items than the chevy's.

Re: Chevy VS Gmc

The C/K series trucks (Chevy and GMC) come off the same assembly line and are the same trucks with a few cosmetic differences.
Usually GMC trucks have more base features then Chevy trucks.

Yep One says Chev and the other says GMC.
To find the best one I would look for the best price tag.

Re: Chevy VS Gmc

Yeah they are virtually the same exeact truck.Except the Chevy usually depending on the options has a cheaper price tag. Also in my opinion the Chevy has a much sportier front end,the GMC just looks dull with a fat-bland grille.
