Alternator upgrade wiring

I have a 92 C1500.. I am looking to install dual electric cooling fans to help cope with the gas prices these days.. I also have aftermarket fog lights and a fairly decent sized stereo system. I am looking to upgrade from the 105 amp alternator to a new 140. I just want to know if anyone can help me with the wiring. Will I just have to run a thicker guage wire to the junction block? Or will I also have to run a thicker wire from the junction block to the battery? Should I run a charger cable from the alt. directly to the battery? Thanks!

Re: Alternator upgrade wiring

The alt will supply the power you need to your assy as they are, make sure that all your grounds are good and nothing is loose, a spare starting battery (deep cycle marine) will help keeep the juices flowing and the sounds loud. No extra wiring is needed except what came with the setup for the assy.
