Re: Supra disaster

Ok, I am having a hard time understanding here. It helps if you use punctuation and capitalization to separate your ideas into sentences.

From what I can gather you bought a Supra with a blown motor. Then you ordered a replacement motor. You installed it. Now you cannot get it started. Is this correct?

I need to know what motor you started with, the motor you swapped in, what you have replaced on it, and you need to be very clear as to the problems you are having.

Re: Supra disaster

It sounds like you have some serious electrical issues. It may not be the alarm. If it was the gauges would not go crazy. Somthing is shorting out to the body. You should take a look at the alarm syetem as well. There is a good chance it is not stock. You need to find some wire diagrams and a mulitmeter and get to work.

Re: Supra disaster

It's easy to hot wire the starter. Just run a jumper from the battery to the little wire on the starter. I can't say anything for your alarm.

Re: Supra disaster

How did you test it? Did you completly remove the starter, or just hotwire it?

Re: Supra disaster

The clicking noise is the starter relay.

You really need to be specific in what you post. I am having a hard time understanding you.

Re: Supra disaster

That 6 volts thing is bugging me. Have you checked battery voltage yet? Have you checked resistance on the main battery cable? If the starter is only getting 6 volts that is a problem.

Re: Supra disaster

If the battery is good then you may have a rotten cable. You can check resistance with the multimeter on the ohm setting, it usually has an omega symbol on the setting. It should read 0 to 0.5. If it is higher, or reads OL then the wire is bad.
