Weird Problem - Please Help!

Have you guys ever had this happen??? Every 4 months or so, when I go to start the truck, the engine just turns over & over and does not fire. When I wait for exactly 15 minutes, it starts like nothing was ever wrong. Any clues??? Thanks.

Re: Weird Problem - Please Help!

I get the same problem but i've never determined the time in between occurances. I originally purchased my Silverado in 2002 in AZ and this happened to me a couple of times and then it quit. Then last year (summer or fall, I cannot remember), 2005, it left me stranded at a gas station. Since Christmas 2005, I installed a remote starter which required a by-pass module to get around the PasslockII fuel system cut-off. Since then, i've been stranded at least three to four times. Frustrated, I took it to the dealer who supposedly repaired the issue by replacing the ignition...repair in April. Unfornately, it has left me stranded once again. My best guess it is a flaw in the PasslockII anti-theft fuel cutoff. I'm planning on returning mine to the dealer again for another look. I've unplugged the battery for the typical 30 minutes to clear the computer memory but I doubt that had any effect. Does your security light come on while the vehicle is running? This is another indication the PasslockII is the issue. THat's about all I have. Good luck.

Re: Weird Problem - Please Help!

Thanks for the feedback, mrb. My security light does come on every now and then while driving. I agree that it has to be something with the theft system. Look at your watch the next time it happens. It will probably be exactly 15 min. Let me know what the dealer says about it the next time you are in.

If your security light comes on, there is a problem with your Pass-lock system.
This could be the reason your vehicle will not start at times.

Most likely your aftermarket installed remote start is causing your problems..if so, GM is not responsible for covering your problem under warranty.
