Whats a safe level to pound my subs
My new *used* car came with a sony headunit its a reciever w/ a cd player built in. Its hooked up to a Sony Xplod 600w amp, and two Sony xplod 1200w peak 10" subs....
I was wondering from controling the subs from the headunit whats a good level for me to play them without blowing them |

Re: Whats a safe level to pound my subs
It will take a lot not to blow those sonys with that amp. The sonys i believe are 300rms and the amp is most likely 150x2 so unless there not wired right you can adjust all you want.

Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota. Cardomain |

Re: Whats a safe level to pound my subs
that amp is probably 600w peak.
which means 300w RMS if yo uare luckey thoes subs are probably truely 400w RMS in the real world. So, a fully clipped signal from that amp wont harm them.
