Transmission fluid drained at stoplight.

I have a chevy cavalier. 97. and i recently replaced the transmission so it still has a warrenty on it. But i was at a stoplight today and i tried to go and the transmission was slipping really bad. So i rolled it into a parking lot and noticed a big puddle of transmission fluid on the street. It was coming from the cover that covers the gap between the transmission and engine. It "protects" i guess or hides the little big of the flywheel that would show. I guess its called the bell housing cover. I dont know if it is something lose in there, or if something broke and I really dont feel like taking it apart again. Any ideas on what this could be?

if it is still under warranty you might as well take it back and have them deal with it. save you the trouble.

Well the transmission itself has a warranty on it. I installed it myself.

if is in the connection of engine and tranny, u r looking at the tranny main seal, if u have warranty on tranny try get the warranty on that

im going to assume the seal is cheap, concidering most are. And i'd rather just get a new one then go through the trouble of shipping the old transmission out, then waiting for a new one to get to me.

wait a min, tranny fluid is comming from around the flywheel??? that should be dry, how did your coverter look when you replaced the tranny.

troque converter looked fine. It was warrentied too since it came with the transmission. but it was clean and nothing seemed out of ordinary.

lmao not in a seal i meant the whole thing i wouldnt trust that same tranny anymore

if it has warranty maybe they pay shipping too
