The a/c went out in my '94 j30 last year. The compressor seemed to work but no cold air. Cost me $1100 at the dealer. In 8 years I bet I didn't use that a/c for more than a total of 3 hours. That's $367 per hour to stay cool.

My a/c was "punctured by a small rock". So they told me it would not be covered under the warrenty. This seems like its a design fault not to protect the a/c compressor. I drive My Q45 on paved roads only . i dont take it off road. So they tell me its gonna cost $850 to fix. I really dont understand how a pebble can punctuer my compressor? Or how they would know for sure that is what it was?

Re: Ac in J30
It may the condensor unit which can be "punctured by a rock" not the A/C compressor.

The A/C system needs to be turn on at least once a month which enable the oil to circuit the whole system else it will rust and seal can be dry out. It is a true for ALL A/C system. It is no problem in Texas since we turn it on 10 month a year. |
