94 Jimmy Hood issue?

I'm new to these forums and not the *most* knowledgeable about many automotive problems(usually learn the workings of something as I work on it).

I've got this 94 Jimmy and am having a slight issue with the hood. Latch works fine, hood release handle inside the vehicle slides free. Looked down the cable from the interior of the vehicle, cannot see any evidence of a snapped cable, but I'd like to be able to pop the hood somehow to be able to perform the required fix for this as well as do my regular maintenance.

Is there a quick, easy fix to get my hood open other than a Sawzall?

Welcome to AF, remove the grille should be able to access the latch and operate it manually, then get it fixed of course. Also have someone tap down hard in the front center of the hood, by hand of course, while you pull the release, may just be sticking, do this first.

when you do get it open, don't be stingy with the wd-40. also stretch the spring that pops the hood, mine got lazy and thats what fixed it.
