Hp?

How much Hp would a high flow cat, headers, and Cai get me. I am thinking around 20hp maybe more with 2.5" tubing, and mufflers. i have Cai in my car but on the track a Vtec beat me with headers, no cat, 3" tubing, mufflers and CAI. I thought Ecotecs could take vtecs!?!?!

there is an art to pushing an automatic to its full potential speed...

he had more upgrades than you and his car was probably lighter...

what year and model honda/acura was his car and what year was your cav? z24?

Re: Hp?

yep, thats correct, if he was bone stock with just a supercharger, then added those 3 mods, that might make 20 extra hp

the thing by that statement i dont think you know how to drive. and young chuck d is right you cant just slam it. and it was a very retarded statement about the ecotec

and who cares just race slower people or spend some money on real power aka turbo, super, new engine

Re: Hp?

so guys, what exactly, besides "slamming it", is involved with racing an automatic???
besides putting it in drive, what is all involved in this "art"

i had an 86 plymouth reliant, and every time i raced it, i just floored it, and it went, now i find out theres more i could have been doing.....

Re: Hp?

You slam an auto cavys gas peddle to the ground at the track and you are not only going to get a shitty 60ft time but an even worse launch. You start off your launch with a half peddle start through the first half of first to second shift. After that you can put it down. The auto cavs bog too damn much if you just put the peddle down leading to nasty 2.4+ 60ft times in AZ weather. Going half peddle through half of first shift will get you a better 2.2- for a 60ft.

Also you dont put it in drive you put it in first. Manually shifting will get you an added at least 200-300rpms add in shift plus or the interceptor and she will be kicking like a manual. Only problem is that if you are not in tune with your car you will hit the limiter and get a nice 2second milk shake.

People that know what they are doing dont race autos because they are easier. They do it because they are better.

Re: Hp?

it was not an ignorant comment at all. it wasn't ment for me to say that im better than him and cocky. my friend beat a vtec with a stock ecotec. both stock and yes im talking about stock cars. i was just wondering why that happened. i have a 2004 sunfire. and the statement was I THOUGHT eco could take vtecs. A post was on here about an eco taking a slightly modded vtec. Thats why. And now that i know that you can't just slam and automatic, thank you for the comment. I didn't come here to get bashed by people who know more than me or not, i just posted to get some advice.
