honda tachometers

Is it just me or does it seem honda tachometers move alot faster than most other car tach after a transmission shift. Before you reply think about it. Go to anyother non honda or nissan/bmw and watch the tach you will notice how slow other car tachometers react to loss of rpm during while the transmission is shifting. Look at the tach in a honda you will quickly see what i am talking about. I have been in and had other cars no tach moved quite like the one in my 1997 accord. Does anyone know is that how Honda intended for it to be or that's just their engineering. Me personally I love it. I know some of you may think i am crazy but that one of those little things that makes me like honda.

Re: honda tachometers

Well, it depends upon a lot of things.
Power of the car, size of the engine, redline, type of tranny, numeric positions of the tach and so forth.

In most cases, a car with a manual tranny, the tach will move a little quicker and the redlind would be a little higher than the same car with an automatic tranny
