I got a ticket for going 12 miles over the limit

this is it. I was on traffic point probation and I only had until October to go to stay free from tickets and I just got one. Now I think I have to mail in my license and can't drive.

Does anyone know how to get them to give me a restricted license. I need to get back and forth to work. I am in California

I wouldnt mail in anything till they request you do so.

I dont live in CAli, but in Indy 12mph over is considered wreckless driving and is usually permanent dings on your driving record. Unlike tickets usualy drop off after a few years.
Expect to pay out the ass on fines and insurance.
Lastly take it to traffic court and fight it. Maybe you can get it droped down to lesser speed/ticket.

Also in Indiana the restriced licenses for work purposes costs around $800-1000, so I'd suspect Cali runs Alot higher on these special license.

I got a wreckless driving years ago, cost me out the ass!
$2000 fine, $800 court costs, and about $5-600 for attorneys fees

And a Permanent ding on my driving record.
Going to try and get it wiped off my record after it been 10yrs and more $$$.

Wont be doing that one again

i checked my ticket he didn't get me for speeding but he got me for license plate bulb was not bright enough and riding at night with only a motorcycle permmit. I forgot to mention I was on my motorcycle. I am still screwed though seeing this will violate my probation for points.

Im im Maryland and a few months ago I got a $145 ticket and 2 points for doing 48 in a 25. Fought it and ended up paying $55 including court costs and got no points.

I know sometimes cops bullshit so Id ask to see the radar if I dont believe them.

you can fight any ticket and get it taken away most of the time if not get it lowered. Cali seems to have much more lenient traffic laws than PA (where i live) but 15 over is whats considered wreckless here. I was caught by a state trooper doing 18 over but because i mentioned im in college to become a state trooper, he let me off with only doing 5 over...much cheaper
