Help with swap problem....

ok so a buddy of mine and I just swapped a B18C1 into his 98 civic EX. Everything runs awesome, but the only problem is it burns about 4 quarts of oil every 3000 miles, and the strangest part is we can't find an oil leak anywhere we were thinking it might be the rings. anyone els have any other ideas as to what could be causing the problem....
thanks

is it smoking bad? because losing that much oil that quick is no where near normal...

Re: Help with swap problem....

well, youd know it if it was....so that tells me there is a leak somewhere... i would washt the engine down real good and top the oil off. then run the car for a while (dont drive it cuz then the air swerling in the engine compartment may move the oil stream..) and shut the car off and let it cool dow then try and find the spot that has the oil...

Oh ya....is there any oil in your engine coolant?

Re: Help with swap problem....

i had the same problem. but not that bad. it turned out to be a piston ring and my head gasket. do a compression test. and i would change the head gasket.
