Liftgate lock malfunction

I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee everything work find except now I can get the liftgate to unlock. Is there something I can do without taking it in for service?

Re: Liftgate lock malfunction

You cannot get the liftgate to unlock, or cannot open it?

The liftgate won't unlock and it will not open.

Re: Liftgate lock malfunction

Do you have electric locking doors, or key only?

If electric, the locking mechanism/actuator might not be receiving voltage, or might be broken.

Do you have a key hole in the liftgate? What happens when you try to turn it?

Either way, there's a panel on the inside so you can get to it from that angle, or you can take off the interior panel.
