do scratch removers/chip fixers work??

hey everybody, i recently realized my car has alot of bad paint blemishes like a bit of rear bumper spider webbing, i bought the car not noticing it had been keyed and hardcore egged at least one time in its life, and i also have a few small paint chips on the front .
i dont want to spend a bundle repainting cause honestly its not worth it financially to me (its my winter beater). i read alot of ads about meguiars scratchx and langka blob elimanators etc etc.. and everything sounds great but does anyone out there know if they actually work like they say??

Scratch X worked great for me but it really depends on how deep and how bad the scratches are. Its not a miracle worker though...............
