what should i do?

ok, heres the story, my dad told me that if i came up to michigan with him, that i would make $500 a week delivering photo packs...well turns out i was doing volunteer work and didnt make ANY money. So im going back home now but the problem is i havent changed my oil yet and i need to leave tommorow and get home tomorrow. The trip is about 800 miles. i was supposed to change my oil at 129,670. my miles are now at 131,681. the oil still looks ok; doesnt look like black paint, but its a little low. i would have got it changed todya, but when i got off of "work" it was too late. i have to leave at about 4am...should i....

go ahead and take the trip cuz its ok
add some oil and then make the trip
ride for a little while then change the oil in some other state

Re: what should i do?

I'd just make the trip if it were me, but that's just my opinion.

Re: what should i do?

I'd just fill the oil and go, I've went 8-10k miles between oil changes on more than 1 occasion. If you break down in Kentucky make sure you do in the north east part and I'll help out.

Re: what should i do?

The engine will be fine.. ive gone about 10K miles without changing the oil and remember while it is recommended to change your oil every 3K that is only under the most extreme driving conditions, and unless you've been full throttling through the town every time you drive im sure you'll be fine, but as soon as you get to your destination, i'd change it then.

Re: what should i do?

If the trip is mostly highway it isn't too bad to go the extra miles, the owners manual says to go more miles on mostly highway driving before changing the oil.

Re: what should i do?

I voted make the trip. Unless your driving one of those weak-ass I4 Camaro that you have redline to do 55 go a little longer before changing your oil isn’t going to hurt anything.
