Celica supra

Ok guys here is the deal. I just saw a celica supra and i was told it was up for sale it has 99k on it. But it also sat for 6 years. I was also looking at a 88 celica. Im going for more proformance and i know the celica supra would kill the 88 but could u guys list the ups and downs for both cars. and maybe the hp. Wat kinda engine. Just give me a little background. I have been in love with the supra for a very long time and here it is in front of me. Im so lost right now.

Re: Celica supra

What year is the supra and is the Celica a GT, ST, or GT-S? Handling wise any Celica would be better because it weighs less.I have an 87 Supra Im tryin to sell that has a 200 hp stock engine. all the celica info u need is at the top of these forums. Celicas are quick, but not really the fastest things on the road. If your wanting a drag car, then the supra would be a better choice. If u want a real racer that can handle and accelerate pretty quick, then the celica would be my choice. Hope this helps.

Re: Celica supra

Well the celica is a gt. And its sitting in a car lot with 190k on it. The guy who sellls the car has know to be a rip off. And the supra i dont know the year. But it is pretty nice over all. Hes thinking of trading the supra for my escourt that why i siad i think the supra will be better i wont have to put out money. And for the handeling on the supra is it ok poor or good. I would like to slowly build a car to get use to power increases. I have been driving for awhile but have never been behind a high power car. And i now you cant just hop into one and go. Celicva has no rust but i do see were someone patched it also and the supra has none. ANd thank you for the help.

Re: Celica supra

yea go for the Supra. They have a 5mge engine right? Id say they are rated at just under 200 bhp. probably 180 or something. They are pretty good looking cars too. the 5m has les power than the 7m but not by much.

Re: Celica supra

a 7mgte engine out of a mkiii should fit without too much trouble. you will probably have to use the same bell 7m bell housing to make the tranny work with it. they may use the same transmision though but im not sure. U can fit damn near any engine in it with modification from m series to jz series. it just depends on budget and amountof work u wanna put into it. good luck with whatever u do though.

Re: Celica supra

So wat kinda price range are we talking for the engines and witch is the best. I mean i will be investing alot fo money into it so i dont want a engine that can only do so much.
