Weird problem - motor cutting out
For some odd reason, when I hit the dimmer switch on the steering wheel, the motor cuts out for about a second, then resumes. Any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks. |

Re: Weird problem - motor cutting out
I hope you find a solution .... and post it. This is a unusual problem.
You didn't mention what year model it is. But if I had to make a wild stab at it .... I would say somewhere you are missing a ground circuit. If it's a recent model, I would further guess a ground near the PCM module. |

Re: Weird problem - motor cutting out
I had a similar issue a few weeks ago. When I dimmed my headlights, the engine backfired. I found a ground connector near the battery (male/female plug) that was pretty masty. I cleaned the battery cables and this ground connection and the backfiring went away.

Re: Weird problem - motor cutting out
Mine turned out to be a short inside the steering column somewhere. Cost me a hundred bucks to have a wire spliced.
