Mecury Capri Trans Am toon

This is one from the big body-work era of Trans Am racing in the mid-80's.
No a direct copy of any real team, but close to some of the Roush Racing cars.

Re: Mecury Capri Trans Am toon

Nope, I start with a very rough pencil sketch, then scan it into my PC.
The image is then completely re-drawn in a vector program called Expression Graphic Designer.
There's no bitmap painting (like Photoshop) at all with the image, it's all vector design for the line work and fill.

Re: Mecury Capri Trans Am toon

Looks awesome! I like the overall feel of it. One thing that i noticed is that the passenger side of the hood seems shorter than the other side. It's throwing off a few things on the front end of the car, like the grille. Other than that, it's great

Re: Mecury Capri Trans Am toon

Alex, I see what you're saying.
What I should do is make the windshield wider to "shorten the driver's side fender.
I think that would make for a better overall balance.

Thanks for taking a look at it.

Re: Mecury Capri Trans Am toon

Hmm, good idea! that would work perfectly. Although, I hate making changes to a piece that I've already declared finished. Is that the same way with you?

Re: Mecury Capri Trans Am toon

Nope, My problem is just the opposite.

I never seem to really be finished with a image.
Commissioned work seems to be the only way that forces me to finish by a deadline.
Even months later, I'll stumble across an old project, and decide that it needs more work.

Thanks.

Yep, sister car to the Mustang and uses the same fox platform.
It was built from 1979 to 1986.
Pretty much had the same options as the Mustang.
