Air condition Problems
2001 chrysler sebring. 2.7 liter sedan.
SUBJECT: AIR CONDITION Air condition has been charged and vacum test for presure and leak. all checked out fine. Compressor will not engage, but if you manually hook compressor to battery the unit blows cold air and works fine. I thinking electrical issuses. PLEASE HELP. |

If jumpering the clutch to battery causes the clutch to engage, then you need to check the safety switches, there is a high pressure control near the condenser by radiator, and there is a low pressure control that is in the suction line usually by the expansion valve on the firewall, use and ohm meter and unplug the connectors on these and ohm out the controls, if there is no continuity and there is sufficient pressure then they should have continuity, there are also several relays and other electronics involved that i couldn't tell you about without seeing a diagram. hope this helps.
