Question 92 Saturn SC Headlight Flicker

Having problem with driver side headlight dimly lit.I cleaned all the grounds that I could find but to no avail.Passenger headlight works fine,I can gound the faulty light directly to battery ground and it works ok but if I leave the ground on the lights stay lit even with the headlight switch in the Off position. What have I missed?

Re: 92 Saturn SC Headlight Flicker

keep in mind the headlights are ground side switched.

how do the highbeams work?

sorry to say i do not have a proper wiring diagram with me but...

1. check fuses(L HEAD and R HEAD i beleave, easy stuff first, even if it is unlikely)
2. check bulb socket for corroson/loose terminals
3. swap left and right headlamp, if problem follows lamp, replace replace it(or both)
4. check wire(i think its pink) from the bulb socket to the fuse box by the battery for high resistance. non invasive and less acuraite test - disconnect both headlamps sockets, test with ohm meter between the two sides, resistance should be less then 2 ohms.

i do have the wiring diagram for the door motors and a list of grounds if they are any help -
