hard start
I have a 1991 S10, 4.3 L. in hot weather it will crank but is hard to get started. could this be a problem with the vehicles computer fuel specs?
I had a 1987 grand am that had the same symptoms until the computer was updated to allow for ethanol. any ideas??? |

Re: hard start
It sounds more like a weak fuel pump or injectors slightly clogged. Also when was the last time you did a full tune up? (cap, rotor, wires, plugs, possibly coil, run some seafoam through the system, etc)

Re: hard start
With a fuel problem like this, first thing I'd check is the fuel filter. Yes they are known for stalling out vehicles upon slowing down, but also they are known for plugging up, which will also prohibit starting. Thought this might help. Let me know.
