96 not starting...weird acting...

okay..here's the laydown...

It all started when my ignition switch caught on fire, so i went in and had it replaced(Recalled), so i get my car back and the tumblers fell in the cylinder and wouldn't come back out..so i took the tumblers OUT...now i need no key to start my car...

NOW...
now i can go out to my car and when i go to start it, the light where it says "PRND21" Will not show up, and when it doesn't show up it will crank but will not fire... Does not happen all the time only every few days...seems like if i wait around for a couple hours the light will come back on and it will start no problem... Now its frequency of happenings are becoming more and more...any help would HIGHLY be appreciated...
