1992 Seirra Will turn over but not start
Ok i have not had to work on this truck that often, but when i do it seems to take alot.
I was driving home for lunch the other day and the truck just died on me. That is after i had filled up the tank that is. It will turn over but the injectors are not, for the lack of a better work, injecting. I have changed out the fuel pump and filter. After buying a multimeter, Pressure gauge, Noid test kit. I have come to the conclusion that the Injectors are not getting any juice ie not power to work. My brother thought it would be the connectors but i stripped a set of them down a little and tested and same effect, no light on the noid tester. Any opinions out there would be appriciated. |

Re: 1992 Seirra Will turn over but not start
Looking at my factory manuals for a 90, the Ignition Module is likely the cause of your problem. Although, the ECM can be at fault.
Some auto parts stores can test the ignition module. If you want to test it your self, remove the 4 wire connector at the distributor. Ignition on, noid light on one of the injectors, take a test light and hook one end to +12 and the other end to the purple/white wire in the 4 wire connector. Every time you remove the test light from the purple/white wire, the noid light should flash. If it flashes, ignition module is bad. If it does not flash, it could be wiring or ECM. My money is on the ignition module. //2000CAYukon |
