Damn old crxs...

Well my g/f just called me from her work..says her friend rolled down the passenger side in her 90 si and it fell down into the door.. I've never really worked with the window tracks before..and I gotta wait til she get's home to pull off the interior panel and look at it..

Has anyone had window track probs before? When it falls into the door does that usually mean something broke and needs replaced?

Re: Damn old crxs...

my window fell down in the door cause the piece that holds the glass into the track glue came loose. i ended up just getting another window from pick and pull as when i tried to resilicone it I broke one of the mounts.

Re: Damn old crxs...

i've worked on the interior of both my doors, mainly to keep the glass strait as it went up and down, so there are, i think, one or two points to tighten and adjust to keep the glass on track. if the glass broke when it fell... well... that doesn't look too hard to replace either, but i let a pro do that for me.

Re: Damn old crxs...

its simple stuff. if you can change your oil you can swap a window. in these cars anyway. two bolts for the window and about 5 or 6 for the door panel. i just reglued mine and it stayed. but my guess is i got lucky find some glue made just for that reason. and you will see how it all comes together once the door panel is off. good luck.

Re: Damn old crxs...

Yes, it's not that big of a deal but you may need someone to hold it in place while you tighten it up. Maybe it's just my luck that it kept slipping though. I hate my car.

yeah it was exactly as GTA said..the glue or w/e came off that plastic peice by the glass...just siliconed it with some old stuff from my father in laws garage and left it sit over night..it's fine now but that window is NOT being rolled down anymore..lol.
