tread patterns

Has anyone noticed major differences between using a asymmetrical vs directional tread pattern in high performance application? if so what tires were they and which design did you find performed better. I am doing a little research on tread design and i would like to recieve feedback from all people weather you drive your car lightly or spirited.

Thanks
Anthony

Re: tread patterns

most modern performance tires use asymetrical designs. this is to get biger tread blocks on the outside shoulder where most of the weight of the car sits during hard cornering.
