Re: CODE 1 pissing me off

Have you changed the header recently? Have you put your timing back to stock spec to see if it goes away??

It doesn't necessarily mean the sensor is bad. Did you stop to think that maybe the wire is broken? Did you test for continuity from the ecu to the oxygen sensor? Did you test the o2's voltage?

hey bam long time no talk to. But ya I tried with a voltage meter and couldnt figure it out it was jump all over the place when I had it on ohms...if you can go into detail how to tet it it would be nice...A friend of mine said just run a new wire from ecu striaght to o2 and that will solve the problem cause i just gotanother o2 but have not put it in until I here how to test them...please respond back bam thanks

You don't want to test it in ohms, that's resistance. You want to test it in volts, which is voltage.
You should also use a multimeter to test the wire for continuity (no breaks). I wouldn't run a new wire, i would try to fix the current wire. The 02 wire is a sensitive wire, and any modification to it can throw off the voltage. Most of the wire is shielded and grounded as well to block out unwanted RF interference (stereo/ignition related).

Hope this helps.

Yeah hes right, if you mess with thatwire you can have some real issues...like how occasionally my AF guage will pulse with the bass on the stereo lol..

Re: CODE 1 pissing me off

I've got the same damn problem. I figured the wire came loose so I redid the connection at the sensor (at collector of header) and at original wire. Still having issues so I may pick up a new 02 sensor for $17 and check the wire for continuity throughout. It was fine for the longest time but now it's back to piss me off.

I noticed that it was shielded but I did a new wire for now until the code goes off I just want to pass smog lol so if it works with new wire for now then I let it be and check whats wrong with the real wire in harness after smog

well, places like radioshack actually sell shielded wire. So, you can use that to run a new wire in the future. Just make sure you know how to ground the shield.

Re: CODE 1 pissing me off
