How can I tell if its a 350

Im looking for a 350 for my caprice, a sleeper build up.

I need it to be Carburated, a CC rochester is fine too. and must be able to bolt up to a thm700r trans, which Ive been told they can.

If anyone knows models years of trucks/camaros or whateever that came with 350's and can tell me how to tell if its equipped with one would be appreciated! what years etc..

Thanks to anyone who has info.

Re: How can I tell if its a 350

Best way to start is to look at the car's VIN. Look through the windshield at the plate on the driver's side of the dash. Later model GM cars will have a letter or number in the eighth position. Do a search on Google for the decoding info for the various years. Or look in the glove box or console for the RPO codes, also listed several places on the internet. A bare engine can be identified by the large casting numbers on the block, again a search of the net will get you listings for them.
