95 max question on struts/shocks????
hi i have a 95 maxima se, auto, 127k miles, it just today came from the mechaninc, i thought it had to get new axles because of the clicking sound it was making, turns out it is the strut bearings making noise, i just went and ordered two new ones today to put in, im playing on putting in new suspension components bc they are worn, my question is i am 90 % sure the fronts have a strut, but what do the rears have????? are they just shocks, or struts back there??? id hate to order the wrong part? also are there only two strut bearings on the car ( 2 in front), or are there also strut bearings in the rear?
thanks, and sorry for the long post, pat

Re: 95 max question on struts/shocks????
Four shock absorbers, one for each wheel to restrain their up/down jumping
Front wheels turn, got to have bearings allowing this and simultaneously supporting car weight. Rear wheels seldom turn, no bearings ![]() Frond shocks do contain spring support = all, rear has cartridges to be inserted (dont forget to add oil foor cooling, add loctite on its top 2" 'nut') Shock swap writeup (plus much more) via 'Favorite Links', see link below
