01 GCL Overheating
I have had recent probelms with 4.0 overheating. By overheating I mean the temp gauge redlining. Twice in the past two weeks. First time I shut it down for a few hours, drove it for a week w/ no problem. Today it did it for the second time, then it went to normal and then back to red line in same 2 mile trip.
Diagnostic codes are 0031, 0051, and 01136 My thoughts are something is not kicking in when it should? Thoughts |

Re: 01 GCL Overheating
Probably an intermittent electric fan.
The first two codes are 02 sensor related. 01136 is not listed--maybe that was code 1196 ? |

Re: 01 GCL Overheating
It was 0136. Sorry. These codes only appeared with the check engine light at the time of the first overheating. I think the overheating is due to a problem with the infamous cooling fan relay. (one of everyones favorite JGC quirks) which I will change this weekend. I'm not sure how that could cause damage to oxygen sensor etc.

Re: 01 GCL Overheating
0136 is also 02 sensor related.
(O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction - Bank 1, Sensor 2) |
