proportioning (sp?) valve quick help needed

I'm almost done swapping the rear discs from a 91 crx si to my 91 civic hb dx. A friend of mine said i need to also swap in the crx si master cylender and proportionig valve. i have the parts, but i need to know if i need to change them since i am going from drums to discs? I need to know because i have to go back to college in 1 week. so i need to finish this up. if you reply can you tell me if you know for sure or if your just guessing, or just who i should call? thanks so much

You don't have to do it, but it's reccomended, i didn't do it and i still noticed quite an improvement. But if you have it i say do it. I'm gonna do it soon. I heard it will improve the braking even more!!

I'm a highway driver and i was wondering if you still felt like you stopped well enough without the PV and master C. being replaced. if you feel like it work well enough without putting those pieces in, then why are you putting them in? also are you sure they aren't the same pieces?

did you get your parts from a crx or integra?

Okay, this is how it is, just replacing the rear drums with discs improves the braking just a tad, to where you notice it and feel it a little, but if everythin else is switched over and yes they are different parts, because the master cylinder would be bigger and the brake booster would have more pressure, and the proportioning valve splits the brake fluid more evenly!!!

So to answer your question i say if the drums are adequate enough for you then you won't need anything else but the rear discs. I have the integra discs, but i want the prop valve, master cylinder, and brake booster, becuz it vastly improves braking and just to actually complete the swap properly!!

change it all!!! dont just settle for the discs. the proportioning valve is the most important. but if you change the booster and master cylinder, you will without a doubt feel a huge difference in your stopping power. also those discs are very nice when you wanna burnout. speaking of which, anyone who do the CRX discs on a civic have a problem with the ebrake cable? because i found that the CRX ones are too short, and i keep breaking the nut on the ebrake handle......

Yeah the crx ones are too short, yeah you have to get the integra ones the fit perfect even all the bolt holes lineup!!
