Hose ID?

I have a 1991 Escort GT (Manual 1.8L)
I've gone through my haynes manual and can't find out what this hose is called. It leads from a split connector that goes from the front of the engine around the right side under the air intake and leads into the heater core/firewall. A second connector splits off up to the underside of the intake plenum.

Had a super hot day yesterday and it blew this hose and as it turns out, the car will dump a full radiator of water out of that hose in about 60 secs.

Anyone know what this hose is called if I call and ask for a replacement? Also any tips on how to get that in there, or am I going to have to take my intake manifold off just to get to this hose?

Heres a shot of the split part:

And then the hose up under the fuel injector rail (hard to see I know, i circled the top in red).

Re: Hose ID?

I'd guess it's heater hose. The branch to the air intake probably is to provide heat to aid in winter operation. Cars with carbs sometimes had coolant going to the carb.

Re: Hose ID?

You don't need to know a name for the hose... just know the diameter, then go in to NAPA or wherever and tell them you want a certain length of that diameter hose.
It looks like the hose may have a preformed shape... if that is the case you can get plastic elbose to connect where necessary.
One of the easiest ways to get the actual preformed hose is to run out to a junk yard and get one off of a car... I am sure they will be esy to find.
