4 Resprays (WIP)

Hi everyone. As promised in my other thread, I have pics of the respray's I'm doing this week.

Over the last 2 days I have disassembled and stripped the paint from 4 of my models.

1. Maisto Lamborghini Diablo SE30 - Originaly Money Green Metalic - Torn Between Red and Silver (keep original for SE30) or stray and go with Orancio (Orange)
2. Hotwheels Ferrari F355 Spyder - Originaly Red - Goning to be Blue (Azuro california maybe)
3. Gate Porsche 911 Carrera (996) - Originaly Pale Yellow - Going to be a dark Blue
4. Gate Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet (996) - Originaly Pale Yellow - Gun Metal Grey

All the cars are at the same stage right now; They have all been stripped of all plastic parts. Completely disasembled. Stripped of all paint using aircraft paint stripper. Sand blasted parts that didnt strip. Sanded with 320, 400 then 600 grit sand paper.

Once I have the cars painted, I will also be painting the interior of each car. I may add details, but I think it will just be paint for now.
I will post progress pics as I work on them. This is going to take a while.

Please post comments and/or suggestions. I am still open to color ideas until they are painted. So if you have an idea for a color, please let me know, and if possible link to or add a pic of the color on a car.

Re: 4 Resprays (WIP)

well, no one responded to my last post so hopefully with some progress i'll get some comments.
as of right now, I have all the models primtered and the porsche coupe has been sprayed. I ran out of paint, so i need to go get another can. I have a few touchups to do on the rear bumber and the inside on the hood.
I'm not sure where my digital camera is right now, so i had to use my phone.
Overall i think the color looks great, but i dont think this camera shows it well.
when i find the camera, I'll get some better shots of it and some shots of the primered cars.

Please respond this time. I had 45 views and not one comment.

Re: 4 Resprays (WIP)

well i can't really say much as to i don't respray my diecasts. and the fact that you took your picture with your cell phone makes the pics really blurry and makes your paintjob look horbile which i believe probably looks a lot better in person. btw did you do anything to the headlights of the porsche?

I found my camera!

you can see the paint much clearer in these shots. You can also see the imperfections and areas i missed (inside of wheel wells). I ran out of paint. I'll get some more in a day or 2.
anyway, here's the shots.

looks much nicer w/ the real pics! in the cell phone pic it looked like blue but it's more teal. paint looks nice. but it doesn't really go with the car.

actually, the funny thing is, the color is more accurate with the phone vs. the camera. I think the flash brought out the yellow primer under the blue paint. it's only 2 light coats.
The color is acutally a dark blue metalic. I'll try to get some good shots with natural light once the paint has been touched up.
