'89 Throttle Body
HI !
I need to remove the throttle body (2.5) for cleaning and gasket replacement. How do I remove the fuel injector cable from the unit ? Thanks, Mac |

Re: '89 Throttle Body
The electrical connector or the fuel line? The electrical connector should hav a lock tab on it, its green, pull it out and the connector comes right off. The fuel line is attached the same way a brake line is attached, use a flare nut wrench and loosen the nut, the fuel line comes right out. Just make sure you relieve the fuel pressure first.

Re: '89 Throttle Body
After I disconnect the electrical connector, the cable appears to run through the side edge of the throttle body. Is there a grommet that pops out that will let me separate the connector/cable from the body ?
Thanks, Mac |

Re: '89 Throttle Body
There's a gasket that runs along the top of the throttle body for the air cleaner, take that out and you will see where the wire runs through, should have a bushing around it, might come out a little hard, just be careful not to destroy the grommet or break the wire.

Re: '89 Throttle Body
Thanks ! I was hoping there was an easy way to separate the cable from the body.
