Changing Fuel Filter '89 Le Sabre
I haven't had the fuel filter changed in about 3 years and want to try doing it myself.
I'd appreciate any info about location, etc in order to do it properly. Many thanks! Mambo77 |

Re: Changing Fuel Filter '89 Le Sabre
It is on the drivers side, under the rear portion of the rear door.

Re: Changing Fuel Filter '89 Le Sabre
The fuel fitler on my '90 at 82800 miles has never been changed. I bought one the other day but I havn't changed it yet becase I couldn't find the relay to the fuel pump to depressurize the system. I unplugged one relay but after running the car for several minutes it never stalled out like the book said it would. Where is this relay and how long should the car run after it's unplugged? or is there another way to depressurize the system?

Re: Changing Fuel Filter '89 Le Sabre
Umm...relay? Funky...
All I ever do is undo the gas cap and engage the schrader valve on the fuel lines to the engine. By depressing the schrader valve you effectively relieve fuel pressure in the lines. Much easier then looking for a relay...Actually, I think the fuel pump is controlled by a fuse located in the relay center behind the glovebox.
