96 voyager - fuel line problem

I replaced the fule pump and filter on my voyager. The fuel line on the new filter that runs from the fuel pump to the engine (is a plastic hose that connects with a plastic clip to a metal hose) is disconeecting at the point where it connects to the metal hose. I replaced the internal clip and it help for another thousand miles. Now its popping out again. I can replace the clip to get around, but need to fix the problem. I'm thinking there must be something causing to much preasure to build up in the system. Ant ideas?

Re: 96 voyager - fuel line problem

Did you check to ensure you put the fuel filter on in the right direction...they dont flow both ways very good...

Also, I think you can pick up those clips from any autoparts store, in case it was damaged or the little ears got broken off

Re: 96 voyager - fuel line problem

I did doublr check when we put it in that we put the fileter in correctly. Also, the fuel line pops out after the filter / before the enging. So if the problem was that the fuel filter wasn't allowing enough gas through it would decrease the preasure instead of increasing it. When it pops it is probobly because of an increase in preasure.

I reseated the clip and poured some fuel injector cleaner into the tank. If there is a blockage of some king in the fule line causing the increased preasure that will hopefuly fix it. The car has made it 60 miles sincer that fix without any problems so I may be in luck.
