Traction Cont., Abs Light, Bad Rotor

Hi,
About 3 weeks ago or so I have had the traction active light come on a few times. Within the last week this has translated to the traction off and abs light coming on. The lights reset when i shut the car off. I have two wheel bearings on the front that are about a year old. I am hoping to 'rule' them out.

I took a good look at my rotors yesterday (all brakes are about a year old and have good pads and no wobble). My front right rotor now has two deep tears on it and has started to pull on occasion.

Could a siezing caliper account for abs and traction control issues. I would think so but I am trying to think of the best way to tackle this. The car is my daily drive. Tonight I am going to pull the caliper and try some grease. I have the service manuals, any advice?

This needs to be scanned on an abs capable scanner for the code and you will be able to look at and compare wheel speed inputs to see if one of the wheel speed sensors is bad or the included wiring to the suspect sensor is a problem.

Problem solved, i think.
The right side pad was terribly worn. The 'feeler',the piece of metal that should start scratching the rotor when the pad gets low, was bent and the pad looked ok from an outside view. I had to leave work early to fix it because the wheel kept locking up.

When I took the caliper off it was clear that the pad was the culprit as the rivets were tearing the rotor. One worn pad on one side tells me that the caliper may be having trouble so I cleaned and greased it up. It may be the way my wife drives as well.

So far, no lights or probs of any kind. I think I got lucky.

Hope all stays ok, but that problem you found really doesn't hook up to an abs type problem.
