Keyless Remote Programing instructions needed for 2000 Pathfinder

Hello all,
I have a 2000 Pathfinder and have just revieved a new remote I won on ebay which is compatible with my car. I have read a few other posts on this forum which says to insert and remove the key from the ignition 6 times in 10 sec with the doors locked and you get the flashers flashinfg once, then turn the car to the accessories setting and hit the lock function on the remote.

I tried this but I got no flashers and the remote did not work.

This previous post seemed to be for a 98 pathfinder. anyone know if the 2000 is different and the method for doing this with the 2000 pathfinder.
