Question Cannot find NEW Delco Powermaster

The motor on my Powermaster is shot. When I put my foot on the brake, after a second or two, you will finally here the motor kick in.. Until then, the brake pedal is hard and then you hear the motor kinda grinding and sounds horrible. It seems that you cannot find a NEW Delco Powermaster anymore. I called a buddy at a parts store and he checked availability at all Delco warehouses and couldn't find one. Is there any other places to look or does anyone suggest an aftermarket model ? Thanks for any help.

Re: Cannot find NEW Delco Powermaster

I installed a brand new motor and pump assembly on a powermaster unit a couple months ago. Got it from our GM parts dept. but in Canada it cost him 700 bucks ,our screen showed lots in the US warehouses yet. Keep trying
at a dealership but I hear Advanced Auto Parts have complete replacement units fairly cheap.

Re: Cannot find NEW Delco Powermaster

Thanks agian for the reply. I do have access to a new motor/pump for about $500, but I also found a place to reman it for about $500 also. I was a bit concerned on how they do it, but I was told that they will test and replace any bad part on the powermaster for the same price. So, I think I'm best to put my bad switch back on it to get it replaced as well...
I'll give Advanced a call though as well as NAPA. Thanks !

have you given thought to a vacuum conversion? i put one on my old 87 WE-4 when the powermaster went out and it worked great. lots cheaper. if my 86 GN's goes out i will probably do the same. it depends if you want to keep the car all original.
