Overhead console compass/ temp. sensor

4 dr 95' blazer, 2wd
Does anyone know if the temp/ compass sensor is located inside the overhead console behind the display or is it somewhere in the dash? My friend's digital compass and temperature console flash several numbers repeatedly, making no sense at all. Thanks for the help!

The temp sensor is on the rad support behind the grille, compass is part of the display unit
