Unhappy 1996 Jimmy won't start

Driving home the other day my Jimmy just died out while I was driving. Pushed it to the curb and tried to start it. It sounds like it wants to turn over but won't. My Dad just gave me this jimmy a week ago. I know that he recently had the fuel pump replaced and it was running fine with the exception of the gas gauge. Gas gauge is not reading accurately. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

my guess would be to put some gas in it and try to start it.

Re: 1996 Jimmy won't start

Do you hear the pump prime? Check your fuel pressure, if it's not 62psi+ then you probably have a dead or dying pump, clogged fuel filter, or maybe a bad pressure regulator. It also could be a relay. Just turn the key with a window down , but don't crank with. You should hear the pump prime. If you don't try checking the connections on the pump. You will have to drop your spare tire, then have a semi flexible arm. Relays are easy they are in the glove box and are only about 10 dollars. Any troubleshooting you do post it here, because everyone will know what you have done and can suggest things from there.
